Guest Size Soap (and other enterprising ideas)

My products are handmade. Every single bar of soap, bathtub fizzer, and balm is created, poured, cut, and packaged with these two (very tired at the moment) hands. Yup. All of it. Handmade means there are slight variations, but I like to think that any imperfections only enhance the charm. It also means that occasionally I end up with a bar that isn't quite full size, or a sad little end piece. What to do with all this extra (less than esthetically perfect, but still really good) soap?

Make little baby bars, of course. Introducing...Guest Size Soap. Or travel size? Or sample size? Whatever. They're adorable! At 1.5 ounces they're 1/3 the size of a regular bar, but still labeled like the grown up version. I brought these out for the Art Bar Rummage Sale & Flea Market last Saturday, and they were quite a hit. So they've joined the regular line up. Want to try several varieties, without committing to a full size bar? Try a sample pack! Problem solved!

I tried out another idea at the rummage sale...Soap Orphans. At about 1 ounce each, these pieces are too small even to be mini bars. But they were popular. I sold out of what I had on Saturday. These will only be available at events (for $1 each) so come out and see me during Bay View Gallery Night on the 28th, at Freya Salon.

In other news, the Spiced Cider soap and the Amber Ale soap will be ready by the end of the month. And the paw balm will be ready in about a week. More on that soon.

Till next time!
